Jason Zambito aka Jason Jinx was among the first wave of artists, along with other early 90s NYC Rave Stalwarts, such as UK transplant DJ DB and DJ Dara —who went on to open Breakbeat Science, the store and label—launched Sm;)e Communications, and the short-lived F-111 Records.

My first introduction to his work was a Sm;)e 10” release I got in 1996, and I was just a fan of his multidimensional musical vibes. We played together often in Chicago, and it was a few years since I spoke to him before his untimely passing in 2019. A Long Island native, Jason was such a sweetheart, kind soul, and Uber-talented man of music.

I made this a long time ago as a personal DJ Tool and totally forgot about it until I just found it. I am just posting this up as a tribute and forget me not from one of the pillars of New York City’s house music sound for an era.
